We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Adviser with at least 2-3 years of experience in Ireland working across commercial and residential construction projects. In addition to health & safety responsibilities, this role will also oversee facilities and building maintenance, ensuring that internal and external office spaces are maintained to a high standard. 

The successful candidate will also serve as the company’s First Aider and Fire Warden, supporting a safe and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Irish health & safety legislation, building regulations, and company policies.

• Risk Assessments: Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments for commercial and residential projects.

• Training & Induction: Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety training sessions to site staff and contractors.

• Incident Management: Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe practices, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records including safety statements, method statements, and risk registers.

• Facilities Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of internal and external office spaces, ensuring they are safe, functional, and well-presented.

• On-site inspection: Ensuring safety standards and working conditions are met.

• Cleaning Standards: Monitor and maintain cleaning standards across all premises, coordinating with contractors or staff as required.

• Emergency Preparedness: Act as the company’s First Aider and Fire Warden, ensuring readiness for medical or fire-related incidents.

• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to embed and ensure safety and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years’ health & safety advisory experience in Ireland, with exposure to both commercial and residential projects- desirable

• Education: Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Facilities Management, or related discipline.

• Certifications: Relevant 3rd level degree, IOSH preferred but not required

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Irish health & safety legislation, construction regulations, and standards.

• Technical skills: Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with safety/facilities management systems.

• Soft skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
